We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Receptionist to join our friendly, dynamic team! With a culture of delivering high quality care, you will act as the first point of contact for patients and visitors using the service.
This is a flexible post that may be worked across both Bloomfield Medical Centre and Grange Park Health Centre depending upon the needs of the service.
Hours for this post are full time which are per week

Main duties of the job
1. Experience in a customer care facing environment that you can evidence within your application
2. Excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate an attention to detail
3. Our reception area is busy so a can-do attitude along with the ability to prioritise and work under pressure are essential.
4. The ability to be flexible and work between and over 5 days when covering for colleagues or in times of high demand within the services
5. Be reliable, professional and adaptable to excel in an ever-changing environment
6. Have a high degree of empathy, diplomacy and integrity and be able to demonstrate sensitivity and an awareness of patients needs
7. Due to the NHS commitment to moving to full electronic communications you must have excellent keyboard and computer skills, with a working knowledge of basic MS office programs such as Word / Excel and be comfortable communicating via email
8. Experience of using Emis and Docman systems

Job responsibilities
9. To meet and greet patients at main reception. Sign-post patients to the correct department or clinical person.
10. Maintain prescriptions in an alphabetical order and ensure Pharmacies collection drivers follow practice protocol.
11. Scan letters and incoming information regarding Bloomfield Medical patients onto the relevant record.
12. Open and distribute incoming post.
13. Record demographic data onto the Bloomfield Medical computer system including changing addresses.
14. Maintain up-to date filing systems ensure notes in the correct place. Retrieve notes as and when required. Undertake searches for any missing notes.
15. Undertake and assist in the organisation of the day-to-day smooth running of the service.
16. Assist in the collection of data for audit, manually and using the Bloomfield Medical Centre IT system eg. age of attendees, access to GPs/HCPs.
17. To undertake elements of coding and summarising as and when required using Emis and Docman systems.
18. Book appointments as and when required.
19. Undertake errand duties as required eg. post office for stamps and post letters
20. Assist and support clients within Bloomfield Medical Centre as necessary.
21. Undertake routine clerical duties eg. answering the telephone, taking messages, and filing, photocopying, and dealing with queries.
22. Receive, transmit, store and retrieve information from the computer system ensuring that records are accurate and contemporaneous.
23. Work with colleagues to diffuse any potentially violent incidents eg. aggressive patients.
24. Inform the Practice Manager of any untoward incidents eg. falls, verbal aggression, criminal damage.
25. Report sickness/absence to the Team Leader.
26. Ensure waiting room is kept tidy.
