Role outline:
An opportunity to join a small finance team in a growing business. The successful candidate will report directly to the Finance Director and be instrumental in supporting our transactional finance team members, ensuring precision in financial reporting and adherence to accounting standards. This role offers significant opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
As a business operating across different countries, in different markets and selling through various channels, you will have a wide-ranging role which will help you to build on your existing skills.
Main duties and responsibilities:
1. Preparation of Management Accounts (in Epicor) to Trial Balance stage
2. Preparation of supplier payment schedules consistent with the company cash flow plan
3. Oversight of payroll preparation (Sage Payroll)
4. Ensuring that key balance sheet accounts (bank, trade debtors, trade and other creditors) are reconciled and up to date
5. Reconciliation of marketplace accounts
6. Provision of accounting information to other departments as and when requested
7. Ensuring that credit card receipts are free from fraud and protecting the company from losses associated with such frauds
8. Processing and recording of expenses claims, including company credit card reconciliations
9. Preparation of subsidiary accounts and VAT returns (Quickbooks)
Specific skills and experience required:
1. Experience in financial and management accounting
2. Experience of Epicor, Quickbooks, and Sage Payroll would be an advantage
3. Experience of working with online retail websites and marketplaces would be an advantage
4. Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
5. Ability to make decisions and work independently
6. Ability to manage and effectively prioritise workload to reach set deadlines
7. Ability to be an effective team player and cooperate well with different departments
8. Proficient Excel user
