Job Description
Overview:
The Compliance Associate will join MUFG Pension & Market Services on a 9 month fixed term contract. You'll work with the team on a hybrid basis, meaning you'll need to be in the Leeds office a couple of days a week, so will need to be within a commutable distance for the days you are in the office.
You will report to the Compliance Oversight Manager, who will be there to support, guide and develop you, but you will need to add value from day one, developing and building on your existing compliance knowledge. You'll need to enthusiastically develop your skills and compliance expertise with appropriate support, which will be provided by the team.
The role holder will need to be solutions-orientated, enabling you to contribute successfully to an engaging and effective compliance culture through the delivery of a risk based compliance monitoring plan and associated oversight work, providing advice and guidance and collaborating effectively with key stakeholders to ensure that the business is operating in a compliant manner.

What you need:
As with any role, we want to find the right person and we want to make sure you know it's the right role for you too. You will need:
1. A minimum of 3 years' experience within a compliance role in the Financial Services industry.
2. Demonstrable knowledge of regulatory requirements, especially the Financial Conduct Authority or other regulators.
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders of all levels internally.
4. Excellent attention to detail and well organised, with the ability to work as an integral member of the team.
5. The energy, drive and desire to work hard within a team, working collaboratively with the different business areas you'll be liaising with as part of your day-to-day role and developing their skills and understanding of compliance monitoring.
6. The ability to build and maintain strong working relationships and support others within the team and wider business.
7. Good report writing and presentation skills, in addition to excellent time management skills.
8. An ability to exercise independent judgement and discretion whilst performing your duties.
9. A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Day to Day, you will:
1. Perform and support with a variety of compliance monitoring reviews in accordance with the annual compliance monitoring programme.
2. Provide real-time compliance advice to the business with regards to the rules, regulations and internal policies that govern their part of the business for both new and existing products and services.
3. Manage the review and associated administration of externally issued materials, including client presentations, social media postings, website content and financial promotions to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards.
4. Review and provide feedback to the business on any breaches and incidents.
5. Prepare compliance related Management Information for presentation and dissemination.
6. Support the review, maintenance and organisation of related compliance policies, in addition to supporting any compliance-related projects.
7. Ensure you comply with the FCA Conduct Rules applicable with all financial services employees.
8. Support the ongoing review and assessment of applicable regulatory and industry developments.
