A unique opportunity for an experienced vet with a strong interest in dentistry to lead our dental team.
Kingston Veterinary Group is a 6 site practice with a tier 3 veterinary hospital at its core.
Since 2019 our Beverley Road branch has been our dedicated dental branch, providing dental services to the whole practice. In 2021 the site underwent expansion and there are now two fully kitted out dental suites with dental x-ray.
The decision to offer staged dentistry as standard has enabled us to improve our service to clients, with dental procedures which are planned and scheduled to enhance patient safety and colleague enjoyment, as well as ensure continued productivity.
We are committed to developing our RVNs and veterinary team members, and in addition to RVNs having scheduled stage 1 lists, we schedule time off rota for our graduate vets to get to grips with dentistry.
This opportunity will give the right candidate the chance to walk in to a fully functional bespoke dental branch which is already running staged dentals, and continue to develop the service we are offering to clients.
Be part of an exceptional team
The role involves supporting RVNs with performing schedule 3 procedures, supporting and coaching graduate vets to acquire basic dentistry skills, and assisting the Practice Director and Clinical Directors with dental related client concerns, pricing strategy and development of new services.
As part of our team we have a vet who has completed a PGcert in dentistry. We are keen to expand the practices offering in dentistry and as we currently provide referrals in other disciplines there is scope to offer referrals to local practices.
Hours aimed to achieve a work-life balance
A full-time role offers a 40-hour workweek over four days, with a regular day off each week. We're also happy to discuss part-time options (3 days per week).
Applicant Requirements
You will be an experienced veterinary surgeon, who is capable of performing staged dentals to a high standard, including radiographic interpretation, knowledge of up to date treatment options and the surgical skill to perform all extractions to a high standard without support.
