YOUR ROLE In this dynamic, fast-paced environment, we are seeking a Senior Operations Manager to join our team, reporting directly to the General Manager. Leveraging your strong management expertise, you will oversee the daily operations at our Sevington site, driving key priorities such as budget management, operational efficiency, and service excellence. Your role will involve close collaboration with our customers, ensuring that all performance metrics are met and KPIs are consistently achieved. You will also be responsible for managing Quality, Safety, Health, and Environmental (QSHE) standards, and ensuring full legal compliance across the operation. Through coaching, communication, and a focus on continuous improvement, you'll inspire and develop your team to deliver exceptional operational performance and enhance customer service standards. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for operational planning, co-ordinating and service delivery for Inspection Services over a 24hr/7 day operation, to meet operational deadlines. Decision making on budgetary issues including sign off in the absence of the General Manager. Prioritisation of Inspection Services activity in order to ensure customer service levels are maintained. Ensuring compliance of the operation to the Quality systems, industry standards and legal requirements Operational decisions involving the deployment of employees and resources in consultation with Business Stream Managers with an impact on warehouse costs, employee relations and customer service. Plan, review and communicate operational requirements and changes across departments, so that KPI's and customer service levels are met. Support General Manager to manage local trade union relationships where applicable ensuring all issues are properly dealt with or escalated as required. YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES Extensive management experience of operating within a commercial operation Experienced in operating within multi site logistics operations. Experience in managing employee relations and customer/trading relations. Exposure to operating within a commercial environment sufficient to develop effective customer service and commercial understanding.
