To work as part of a team of production operatives:
- Producing high quality product according to the manufacturing specification and food safety legislation.

-Operate packaging machines flowrap’s and multivac’s carrying out and recording quality checks
Accountabilities/responsibilities – or “what you have to do”
· Simultaneously run multiple production lines, Flowraps- Multivacs ensuring all lines meet their KPI targets (including wastage and efficiency) and that the team leader is aware if targets are not going to be met.
· Ensure the smooth production flow of product throughout the process.
· Differentiate between good quality and sub-standard product.
· Carry out product changeovers, work as a team and minimise downtime.
· Report any anomalies immediately to the Team Leader or an appropriate colleague i.e. Senior Production Operative, to ensure wastage and efficiency targets are maintained.
· Communicate and deal with situations as they arise, in a timely manner.
· Maintain a consistently high work ethic, allowing optimisation of line speeds at all times.
· Maintain a good standard of housekeeping to provide clean, safe working areas at all times.
· Report any Health and Safety issues to Team Leader or Production Manager immediately
· Actively drive continuous improvement in your work area by following OPS principles.
· Carry out quality checks and CCP’s to procedure and processes. Recording of information on daily shift paperwork.
· Record all checks accurately into computer and use AX sharepoint system.
Job duties
To operate Multivac and Flowrap machines, ensuring that the correct quantity of quality product is packed into the correct packaging.
· Carry out changeovers and set up of multivac and flowrap machines with minimal downtime created.
· Ensure that all packaging materials are scanned before use.
· Ensure that specifications/traceability sheets are followed and filled out correctly.
· Ensure that the correct paperwork is used in accordance with the correct products.
· Ensure all quality checks are carried out and recorded on line computer system.
· Ensure all coding is to specification & running on correct program and report any problems immediately.
· Ensure all guarding is in place before running lines.
· Maintain film usage targets and minimize rejects, by liaising with production staff and Team Leaders.
· Run lines in accordance with approved speeds, to avoid bottle necks and in line with the company KPIs.
· Work closely with the warehouse to ensure sufficient stock of film and that traceability and stock rotation procedures are followed. At end of run, return all stock to warehouse, scanned and wrapped correctly.
· Ensure Team Leader is informed of any potential quality issues you may have before boxes are packed.
· Responsible for looking after equipment i.e. ensuring that all parts of the equipment are maintained and reported in a timely manner if any part is broken.
· Follow manual handing procedures at all times.
● Ensure that the clean-as-you-go policy is always maintained.
Hygiene
To ensure all hygiene and cleaning duties are carried out to a high standard across the entire factory.
· Clean production lines and factory areas, as and when required, using CICs, shift hygiene cleaning records.
· Complete all hygiene duties as per shift cleaning record sheets.
· Carry out hygiene swabbing ( ATP – adenosine triphosphate swabbing to measure cleaning results)
· Ensure that all cleaning documentation is completed accurately and signed off correctly.
· Responsible for looking after hygiene equipment i.e. ensuring that all parts of the equipment are maintained and reported in a timely manner if any part is broken.
Environmental
Awareness of environmental impact and reduce general waste, energy running.
● Switch of any belts when line running isn’t required i.e cleaning, breakdown longer than 1hr.
● minimise product to bins for animal feed.
● chemical usage – correct dosage used for cleaning purposes.
Packing and Loading
All staff are required to perform packing and loading duties.
Quality
All staff are responsible for the quality of product produced in their work area.
Training
All staff are required to share their knowledge, and when required, to train their colleagues using a buddy system.
All staff must be able to carry out this training in English.
Competencies/Qualifications/Experience/Technical Skills
Essential
Multivac and Flowrap Experience running lines and production machines (similar machinery thermoformers)
