Location: Independent Specialist School for Students with Autism, Ages 6-18

We are delighted to partner with a vibrant and inclusive independent specialist school dedicated to supporting students aged 6-18 with Autism Spectrum Conditions and associated learning challenges. The school fosters a nurturing environment where students flourish academically, socially, and emotionally. To further enhance their provision, we are recruiting a Qualified Speech and Language Therapist to join their dedicated multidisciplinary team.
As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a crucial role in empowering students to overcome communication challenges and achieve their potential. Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff, you will assess, plan, and deliver tailored interventions to enhance students' social communication and language skills.
- Assess Communication Needs: Conduct comprehensive evaluations to understand individual student needs.
- Create Tailored Interventions: Develop and implement therapy plans for individual and group sessions aligned with EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans).
- Collaborate with the Team: Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver holistic support for students.
- Support Staff and Families: Provide training, resources, and guidance to implement effective communication strategies.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Keep detailed records of therapy sessions and provide progress reports.
- Contribute to EHCP Processes: Actively participate in review meetings and contribute to Education, Health, and Care Plan development.
- A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Proven experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational or specialist setting.
- Knowledge and understanding of Autism Spectrum Conditions and related communication challenges.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
