Health & Safety Advisors - exciting opportunity in Dyce, Aberdeen! Join a leading company specialising in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of industrial gas turbines, compressors, and rotating equipment. This is a 6-month fixed-term Health & Safety Advisor position with the potential for extension. Duties and Responsibilities:
Planning & Organising
* Providing guidance on all health and safety-related matters.
* Maintaining the integrity management process and coordinating statutory inspections.
* Keeping the Health and Safety Legal Register up to date.
* Maintaining registers for Risk, COSHH, Fire, PUWER, DSEAR, Noise, Face Fit, Asbestos, and First Aid.
* Overseeing the PPE and RPE equipment registers.
* Coordinating the Health Surveillance programme.
* Preparing and presenting relevant Health and Safety information at annual management review meetings.
* Monitoring and reporting on KPIs.
* Developing and maintaining health and safety policies and procedures.
* Updating and managing the integrated management system manuals.
Technical/Operations
* Providing advice and support on root cause investigations.
* Registering and tracking all QHS&E incidents, ensuring progress is monitored and corrective actions are implemented.
* Assisting with internal QHSE audits.
* Reviewing and approving Risk Assessments and Method Statements for maintenance work.
* Advising on Health and Safety aspects related to major facility projects.
* Ensuring timely development and review of Fire, DSEAR, Risk, and COSHH assessments, providing guidance on their implementation.
General
* Actively supporting Environmental and Decarbonisation initiatives.
* Encouraging and contributing to Lean and Six Sigma projects.
* Ensuring administrative tasks are completed effectively and on time.
* Identifying and promoting improvement opportunities that enhance safety, quality, and environmental responsibility.
* Minimal travel required for this role.
Requirements:
Key Skills & Technical Requirements
* Internal auditor – ISO 9001, ISO 14001 or ISO 45001.
* Fire Risk Assessor.
* Noise Risk Assessor.
* Detailed knowledge of all company Accreditation Standards.
Qualifications/Experience
* NEBOSH General Certificate.
* Literate in MS applications.
* Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of company IT systems.
