Role: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Bideford/Barnstaple (flexibility to work across both sites)
Salary: Starting at £90 per day

Their main aim is to ensure all students feel welcome and safe. Students often arrive at this school following a breakdown in relationships at previous schools, so it is vital that you adopt a nurturing role.
The school:
Based across two sites, the schools’ main priority is supporting the social and emotional needs of the students first, subsequently allowing for the academic progress to follow. Students join them at various stages throughout the year, usually due to a breakdown in their relationships with their schools. The school works tirelessly to support students in either reintegrating back into mainstream schools or students complete their studies with them.
About the role:
* Provide outstanding support for students with additional needs, helping them to engage in their learning
* Work on a 1:1 basis where required to help support academic and personal progress
* Support the classroom teacher in the day-to-day running of the lessons and classroom
* Help students develop their emotional wellbeing and equip key life skills
* You must be flexible to work across sites
About you:
The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for making a positive difference to the lives of young people. Due to the sometimes challenging nature of the role, you must be able to remain calm and professional under pressure. Resilience is an essential quality for this role! Previous experience working with individuals with SEMH difficulties is highly desirable. Due to the nature of the school, you must be able to drive and be willing to work across both sites where required.
