JOB PURPOSE: To work within the Pre-Press Team taking customer supplied files to create press ready repro through Artpro stepping our litho printing plates via Esko Automation Engine and WebCenter. Checking all work meets customer and internal specifications. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: The main areas covered by this role are as follows: - Typesetting changes or amending files as required. - Creating/amending digital artwork by following a brief. - Checking all supplied repro is press ready and fit for purpose. - Checking files and layouts against our guides/drawings. - Complete and maintain studio quality documents such as check sheets. - Using Automation Engine/WebCenter workflows for stepping and outputting, films, PDFs, Varnish Coating files and Litho Printing plates. - Resolve any issues relating to jobs, contacting internal or external agencies if required. - Communicating with customers and repro houses - Working with other regional pre-press departments QUALIFICATIONS: - Design/print related qualification to HNC/BTEC (desirable) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE - Understanding of all aspects of a Pre-Press department - Apple Mac experience, good working knowledge of Adobe software illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat. - Knowledge of Esko products Artpro, Artios CAD, Plato, Automation Engine and WebCenter - Use of IT and its practical applications. - Knowledge of print standards and closed loop colour control systems - Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. - To continually develop through appropriate training, to enhance the needs of the business Smurfit Westrock (NYSE:SW) is a global leader in sustainable paper and packaging solutions.
