Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our dynamic team. The Estimator will play a crucial role in assessing project costs and ensuring that all financial aspects are meticulously calculated. This position requires a strong understanding of cost control measures and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering accurate estimates that support the overall success of our projects.
Responsibilities
1. Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects by analysing drawings, specifications, and other documentation.
2. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
3. Conduct thorough market research to ensure competitive pricing and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
4. Maintain comprehensive records of all estimates, including changes and revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
5. Monitor project budgets and provide regular updates on cost control measures to ensure financial efficiency.
6. Assist in the preparation of tender submissions and proposals, ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate.
7. Participate in project meetings to discuss estimates, budgets, and any necessary adjustments based on project developments.
Qualifications
1. Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator or in a similar role within the construction or manufacturing industry is preferred.
2. Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices.
3. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
4. Proficient in using estimation software and tools, along with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
5. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
6. Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work are essential for success in this role.
7. A relevant degree or qualification in construction management, engineering, or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
