Service Engineer – Based from Home, but you must live within a 50 mile Radius of our head office which is located in B37 but will be required to travel to sites throughout the UK and occasionally to Ireland.
Salary: Basic £35k+ Depending on Experience and additional Allowances
Basic Working Hours 37.5 hours per week Plus regular overtime
Hitec Power Protection are a European owned company with offices worldwide. We are looking for a Service Engineer to join our Service Department to carry out preventative and corrective maintenance, Overhauls and Upgrades, and trouble-shoot Hitec products and third-party installations. Your duties will include Electrical and Mechanical tasks.
Responsibilities
* Functional switching of UPS units and UPS systems.
* UPS unit Planned Preventative Maintenance.
* Fault finding, diagnosis and repair.
* UPS Unit Overhauls and Upgrades.
* Out of Hours Emergency Call outs and On call Rota.
* Basic vibration monitoring, oil and water sampling.
* Power module level and alignment.
* Software analysis and interpretation.
* Basic UPS control adjustments and software interrogation.
* You provide technical support to customers.
* Support and Supervise subcontractors during onsite work.
Requirements
Essential
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Field Service delivery environment.
* Qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering e.g. C&G or NVQ.
* You have Considerable knowledge of electrical and Mechanical engineering.
* Reading and understanding wiring diagrams and schematics.
* You have had exposure to PLC and processor-guided components and diagnostic software.
* Flexibility for working regular weekends and overtime due to customer requirements.
* Full UK Drivers Licence.
* You are willing to travel regularly to perform work.
Desirable
* Experience with alignment equipment and vibration analysis.
* Experience with operating hoisting equipment.
* Experience with diesel-powered machines or rotating equipment.
