Job Title: Experienced Steel Fixer
Location: Oxfordshire
Duration: 5 Months Minimum (with potential for extension)
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 7 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday
Salary: Competitive Hourly Rate + Overtime at 1.5x
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Steel Fixer to join our team on a major infrastructure project. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a significant development that will enhance the local community and infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
* Reading and interpreting working plans and steel lists for the job.
* Setting out the work from these instructions.
* Making steel bars or mesh the required length by cutting them with bolt cutters, guillotines, and power saws.
* Assembling the reinforcing bars or mesh by welding, wiring, or clipping into predetermined locations within the concrete.
* Fabricating steel reinforcement as beams, footing pads, or special units.
* Joining prefabricated units together for large sections of high reinforcement.
* Fixing steel to concrete bases.
* Installing beams and pre-cast slabs.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a steel fixer in large scale or high-value construction projects.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and plans.
* Excellent measuring and cutting skills.
* Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing and equipment.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Good physical stamina and dexterity.
