Main duties of the job You will take a key role in providing the outpatient psychology service in the Haemostasis and Thrombosis Centre (St Thomas' Hospital) and work with the rest of the psychology team in the Haematology Department at Guys' Hospital. You will supervise and manage junior staff, and contribute to the variety of work undertaken by the team such as inpatient support, consultation, MDT clinics, teaching and audit. You will welcome the opportunity to enhance your own practice via CPD and collaboration with other GSTT psychologists. You will have the opportunity to offer group therapy/support, and joint multidisciplinary consultations. You will work with staff (e.g. medical doctors and ward nurses) to support them in providing quality care. You will be enthusiastic about teaching, training, research, audit, and contributing to the development of psychology in haematology on a London-wide and national basis. About us Since 1997 the Haematology Psychology Service (HPS) has provided psychological support to patients with blood disorders and their families at GSTT. We are based within the haematology department at Guy's Hospital, with dedicated space in the Haemostasis & Thrombosis Centre at St Thomas' and are therefore well integrated within the multidisciplinary haematology teams. HPS is recognised for being accessible to patients and staff and strives to be as representative of the local population as much as possible. The HPS is led by the Consultant Clinical/Health Psychologist and also comprises one Band 8b, one Band 8a, four Band 7 Practitioner Psychologists, and a Senior Assistant Psychologist. We meet regularly with other psychologists across GSTT and are involved in Trust-wide initiatives.
