The Role of Cabin Operative:
Reporting to the Regional Accommodation Manager and working at our Grangemouth Depot, our Cabin Operative will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day maintenance, repair and preparation of accommodation cabins, assisting the Cabin Fitters, and providing general labouring support for various tasks. The role requires flexibility, the ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key Responsibilities include:
* Support cabin fitters during breakdowns, repairs, and installations
* Assisting with the repair and replacement of damaged components in cabins.
* Refurbish and paint accommodation units as required.
* Assist with the safe removal and decommissioning of cabins, including disconnecting services and dismantling units.
* Address customer concerns related to the condition and functionality of cabins.
* Inspect cabins and equipment for defects, escalating issues to the supervisor or manager as needed.
* Prepare customer sites for cabin installations when required.
* Assist with loading and unloading cabin equipment and accommodation units.
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment, adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
Basic Plumbing, Joinery & Electrical Tasks:
* Assist with the installation and setup of interior components of the cabins.
* Carry out basic plumbing tasks, such as connecting sinks and toilets.
* Perform basic electrical tasks, including wiring lights and sockets, to ensure all services are functional.
* Complete basic joinery on furniture, materials, and units etc.

Do you have the following skills/experience:
* Previous experience in cabin maintenance, repairs, or related construction/trade work is desirable.
* Basic plumbing, joinery, and electrical skills are essential.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
* Good communication skills and customer-focused approach.
* Be a CSCS Card holder (desirable).
* Being a team player is essential in this role, but you will also be expected to take initiative and work independently when required.
