We are really looking for someone that has worked as a QS (Qualifying Supervisor) before and is familiar with NICEIC systems.
The role would be for someone based in the North, ideally not Scotland based but someone that could cover work in Scotland, Cumbria, North West and North East.
Main functions of job: -
1. Ensure all results of inspection and testing are recorded correctly on the appropriate certificates or reports.
2. Ensure that the business’ premises, equipment, documentation, and records are available for inspection when required by NICEIC.
3. Safeguarding all unused NICEIC forms of certification and reporting any loss, theft, or misuse
4. Audit all Lynx and contract electricians as well as competent telco engineers to ensure safe working
5. Onsite Electrical Equipment isolation and de-installation including battery banks
6. Installation of DC power systems.
7. Maintenance Electrician for Lynx Premises
Main responsibilities: -
* Ensure all results of inspection and testing are recorded correctly on the appropriate certificates or reports.
* Ensuring that the business’ premises, equipment, documentation, and records are available for inspection when required by NICEIC.
* Safeguarding all unused NICEIC forms of certification and reporting any loss, theft, or misuse
Audit all Lynx and contract electricians as well as competent telco engineers to ensure safe working practises: -
* Documented safety audits of Lynx Contract electricians
* Documented safety audits of Lynx own electricians
* Documented safety audits and training of trained and competent telecoms engineer’s electrical work.
* Stop anyone working who is believed to be unsafe and report accordingly.
* Ensure electrical staff training records are up to date.
* Carry out employee appraisals for electrical staff as per company procedures.
Onsite Electrical Equipment isolation / de-installation and installation UK & Europe: -
* Isolate DC feeds to telecoms equipment.
* Isolate and de-install battery banks
* Isolate and make safe 240v feeds to rectifier systems.
* Recovery of redundant power cable systems
* Strip out all tenant installed electrical systems back to Landlords LV.
* Decommission and de-install Fire and intruder alarm systems.
* Re-instate lighting.
* Installation, testing and certification of AC & DC systems.
* Installation of DC racks, batteries, and rectifiers.
* Decouple and isolate generator changeover systems.
* De-install and isolate air-cooling systems and controls
* De-gas and de-install air cooling systems (if qualified)
Onsite assist with mechanical telecoms de-installation UK & Europe: -
* Onsite recovery of telecommunications equipment:
* Mechanical disconnection and movement of telecommunications equipment
* Electrical and optical disconnection of large telecoms systems
* Installation of telecoms systems
* Assist with site surveys to capture power information.
Maintenance Electrician for Lynx Premises: -
* Complete annual test of existing electrical installations
* Complete annual PAT testing
* Install new equipment into test labs & supply test certs.
* Carry out any electrical maintenance requirements.
* Install new and upgrade existing installations.
Working conditions/degree of effort required: -
* Mostly offsite based role which will likely require driving to client sites and working away from home, mostly working as part of a team.
* Working at customer premises as required, requiring travel by vehicle both in the UK & Europe.
* Completion of electrical de-installations at client sites. Lifting and carrying of equipment and tools

Education required: -
* 5 GCSEs including Maths and English.
* 18th Edition
* NVQ level 3 & AM2
* City & Guilds 2391 Testing & Inspection
* 18TH Edition BS7671
* Current ECS/ JIB gold card
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Knowledge and understanding of electrical drawings and schematics.
* Excellent fault-finding skills
Desirable requirements: -
* FGAS Qualified
* IPAF Mobile Elevating Work Platforms
* PASMA Tower certificate of competence
* Health & Safety Training
Experience required: -
* Experience of leading teams and managing others
* Experience working a telecoms / IT technical environment would be beneficial.
* Experience working on industrial DC power systems.
* Experience decommissioning and removal of fire and intruder alarm systems.
* Manual handling
* Experience of working within a team.
* Exposure to business processes and procedures.
