The Community Inclusion Team is a community-based day service for adults with a Learning Disability that operates across West Lothian Communities, with an office base at Quigley House Craigshill Livingston.
The Service supports individuals through face-to-face contact to access a range of community-based meaningful activities meeting individual outcomes. An exciting opportunity has arisen for the successful applicant to join our staff team on a permanent basis to develop and deliver a stimulating person-centered, outcome-focused service in line with West Lothian Council and Care Inspectorate guidance, policy & procedure, as well as National Strategies.
For this post, activities will involve working across a number of West Lothian community venues, with the successful applicant being able to work with partner agencies, as well as sourcing and supporting suitable volunteer opportunities.
It will be essential for applicants to have had a range of experience working with Adults with a Learning Disability, especially in care planning and positive risk-taking. It would be desirable to have HNC Social Care or SVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
The post will be 36 hours per week, working Monday to Friday on a set shift pattern.
You must be able to meet the essential criteria and communicate with a wide variety of people both verbally and in writing, as well as have the ability to remain calm when working under pressure and demonstrate good organizational skills.
Experience of working with groups and being creative in meeting individual requirements within these would also be beneficial within this role.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
