We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Gateway and Inflight Manager to join our team at RAF Brize Norton, Carterton. To contribute to the delivery of exceptional services at Gateway House and for inflight operations. Role Overview As the Deputy Gateway and Inflight Manager, you will support the Gateway and Inflight Manager in ensuring smooth operations, overseeing a team, and maintaining high standards of service across the business. You will work closely with the management team to achieve business objectives, maintain budgetary control, and ensure safety and service excellence. Key Responsibilities Operational Management: Assist the Manager in all aspects of day-to-day service delivery. Ensure the units are fully staffed at all times and resolve daily operational issues. Monitor and uphold safety and security standards across the building. Ensure the delivery of service excellence, brand integrity, and compliance with Sodexo’s standards. Assist with the development and execution of business plans and achieve operational goals. Deputise for the Manager as needed, including on-call or holiday/weekend cover. Health & Safety Implement and review robust health and safety procedures. Carry out regular safety walks and ensure compliance with H&S and food safety standards. Role model safe behaviour and enforce adherence to safety guidelines. Financial Management Assist with weekly/monthly financial processes and contribute to budget reviews. Ensure compliance with cash and stock management procedures. Support the Manager with cost analysis and corrective action plans when necessary. Client & Customer Relations Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and customers. Understand and respond to customer needs and expectations. Ensure communication between departments for catering and operational requirements. Leadership & People Management Lead by example, provide clear direction, and support colleagues in achieving business objectives. Manage rosters efficiently, ensuring optimal labour allocation and service delivery. Handle recruitment, inductions, performance management, and absence management in line with HR policies. Support employee engagement initiatives and foster a positive team environment. Key Accountabilities: Full staffing of operational units. Deputising for the Manager as required. Continuous improvement of service delivery. Effective management of absence and performance. Successful completion of internal and external audits. Person Specification: Essential Experience in a supervisory or deputy management role in the soft FM service industry. Proven personnel supervision or line management experience. Attention to detail and ability to identify opportunities for improvement. Strong organisational skills with adherence to company processes. Knowledge of health and safety and food safety standards. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to work both independently and within a team. Desirable Experience within a military environment. Previous experience in a similar role. Health & Safety qualification (IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent). Food Safety qualification (Level 3 or equivalent).
