About The Role
We are looking for an Engineering Geologist/Geotechnical Engineer to join our Red Rock Geoscience team in Exeter.
Red Rock Geoscience is a geotechnical and geo-environmental consultancy who has a reputation for solving problems on difficult development sites and taking a managed risk approach to challenging geotechnical and geo-environmental problems.
We are looking to recruit an Engineering Geologist/Geotechnical Engineer to support our geotechnical design services for a wide range of clientele on a variety of local, national and international projects.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop your career and technical knowledge within our close-knit ground engineering team, often in support of other design disciplines.
We have a great list of current projects including:
1. Slope and cliff stability assessments in some of the most scenic parts of the UK,
2. Soil and rock slope stabilisation design,
3. Engineered earthworks and ground improvement,
4. Foundation designs on geologically challenging sites and high-rise developments.
We are seeking candidates that are confident, numerate, technically proficient and prepared to think outside the box. You will be involved in all aspects of the business including client liaison, preparing estimates, and site visits. You will be comfortable in communicating with other design disciplines (e.g., structural and civil engineers) on multi-disciplinary projects.
You will be based at our easily accessible offices just outside Exeter, which has ample parking.
Whilst some projects will be based in the local area, the role may also involve working on projects in other locations throughout the UK and even overseas.
About You
1. BSc degree level qualified in Geology, Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering or a related subject.
2. Preferably an MSc in Engineering Geology/Geotechnical Engineering.
3. Full UK driving licence.
The Individual:
1. Good verbal and written English.
2. Ability to produce work of a high standard with minimum supervision.
3. Ability to organise your own work and time management and supervise less experienced team members.
4. Good communication skills and the ability to express ideas.
5. Self-motivated team player with the ability to lead design teams.
6. A 'can do' attitude towards tasks and the ability to ask questions to resolve uncertainty.
