Job Objective:
This role of 3D Draughts person will handle projects and implement necessary modifications using SolidWorks and Epicor software. They will use SolidWorks for creating complete 3D designs of all components and assemblies, which will then be used to create Engineering Drawings for the factory floor. They will be tasked with transferring parts lists and material content of coolers into the manufacturing system upon creation. Additionally, they will need to establish initial routes and methods of manufacture for production, as well as suitable materials depending on the job specific requirements.
Role and Responsibilities:
* Complete drawing projects from various specifications to produce production drawings using SolidWorks.
* Read and understand engineering drawings, and understand revision control and traceability.
* Process Engineering Change Notes (ECN’s) to make changes to existing drawings in a timely manner to support internal and external customers.
* Create part numbers and build a bill of materials (BoM) for Heat exchange units using drawings and specification information.
* Achieve required dates for completion of Drawings / B.O.M.’s to meet on-time deliveries to internal customers and ultimately on-time deliveries to customers (Key performance Indicator).
* Perform checks on other team members’ project output as required to maintain a high accuracy level throughout.
* Maintain system records for material identification/specifications.
* Organise drawing review meetings and ensure corrections and alterations identified are completed.
* Organise concept review meetings with the wider Engineering and production teams to review designs before manufacture.
* Liaise with Production Engineering to ensure the correct manufacturing methods and times are applied.
* Support Purchase Team with information of components and materials.
* Calculate amount of paint required for units and assign relevant part numbers for paint and thinners.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience of engineering drawing using SolidWorks.
Preferred Skills:
* Knowledge of pressure vessel design, such as ASME ‘U’ Stamp, Pressure Equipment Directive (PED).
* Knowledge of sheet metal manipulation.
* Knowledge of Office 365 including: Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
* Interest in continuous improvement and problem solving.
This role is Office based. Ideally Full-Time 37 hours a week:
Mon-Thurs 8:00am-4:45pm, Friday 08:00am-12:00PM
