The Specialist Teacher Advisory Service support children and young people who are deaf or hearing loss, have a vision impairment or physical disability, or have speech, language and communication needs.
Joining our STAS team based in Winchester, you will have a secretarial/administrative background, preferably in an educational environment. The team is made up of experienced teachers and other professionals with qualifications in their relevant specialisms. You will also part of the admin team across the service who you will meet regularly with.
Day to day tasks may include but not limited to, processing reports and sending out letters, database maintenance, organising meeting rooms and refreshments, opening post - scanning and distributing, dealing with telephone enquiries, preparing resources, photocopying and filing where appropriate. Ordering materials and publications, basic processing of payment requests and assisting with budget monitoring within corporate guidelines. Overseeing equipment as required.
You will possess a high level of organisational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative, but within a team environment. You must ensure confidentiality at all times.
You will also need a flexible attitude and good communication skills, written and oral and possess a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint and preferably IBC and Capita One, but training can be provided).
