Vacancies Lead Library Assistant - Bletchley Library
Job Introduction
We’re looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Lead Library Assistant to join our team at Bletchley.
You’ll be front of house directly helping people using the library, so excellent customer service skills are essential.
You’ll be responsible for managing day-to-day operations within the library, taking responsibility for the building, occasionally as a lone worker.
This is a part-time role, working 29.5 hours per week pro rata and includes working every Saturday morning. A basic DBS check is required.
Main Responsibility
* Undertake counter and enquiry desk duties.
* Undertake administrative routines including banking procedures on a regular basis.
* Able to supervise the work of others and train junior staff and volunteers.
* Able to work with groups of children.
* Promote and deliver activities, such as story times.
The Ideal Candidate
* GCSE maths and English A-C grade or relevant experience to demonstrate adequate levels of literacy and numeracy.
* ECDL or equivalent IT skills by relevant experience.
* Experience in customer care service in private or public sector.
* Good communication skills for customers and staff.
* Ability to deal with difficult situations in a calm and helpful manner.
* Ability to drive would be desirable.
