We are looking for a Senior Network and Digital Infrastructure Manager to help us redefine and re-engineer our existing network and infrastructure to prepare us for the challenges of the next five years and beyond as we embark on our digital transformation journey.
Working in a multi-campus educational setting reporting to the Head of Digital and working with a small team, you will have responsibility for the redesign and implementation of all aspects of our network infrastructure as we move towards a secure, resilient, scalable, high-performance solution based on endpoint management in a zero-trust security model.
Understanding the essential relationship between networks, servers, storage, the cloud, software deployment, applications and endpoint management, this is a broad role requiring close collaboration and tight working practices within the IT team and strong engagement with the user community. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, design, deliver and manage the technical infrastructure so it is fit for purpose to meet Group and College stakeholder requirements for performance, capacity, and compliance.
Maintain the security of our IT systems in line with legislation and Group policies.
Ensure that all Digital Services function efficiently on a day-to-day basis in terms of availability, reliability, and speed.
Ensure that the network and network services remain operational during access hours and appropriate back-up, business continuity, safety and security protocols are implemented.
Liaise with third-party companies for supply, servicing, and repair of IT equipment as per support and warranty arrangements.
Manage the deployment of software packages to college devices.
Ensure all software and firmware is updated in line with the Group policies and IT best practices.
Provide a high level of support to all users of the IT systems, including staff and students.
Produce training resources for users to help them become more self-sufficient.
Manage non-strategic purchasing and projects, and ensure contractors work quality, standards and deadlines are met and within budget.
Create and maintain technical documentation for Group and College Digital infrastructure.
Ensure support tickets are prioritised and completed in a timely fashion.
Provide expert assistance and training to other members of the Digital team and act as an escalation point for technical issues.
Proactively investigate and evaluate new products or technologies that may be of use to the College, making recommendations to the Head of Digital.
Assist in planning and managing the replacement of all IT assets in line with established lifecycle policies, such as end user workstations, laptops, telephones, AV systems, server, and network hardware.
Build and maintain relationships across the Hart Learning Group and contribute fully in Group wide initiatives to enhance and maximise the provision of services.

A degree or equivalent experience in relevant discipline (qualifications or experience in server virtualisation (must include Hyper-V) and operational management of server systems including, but not limited to, AD, DNS, DHCP, RADIUS, EntraID)
Experience of undertaking a similar role in an education environment is desirable, or demonstrable experience in identifying solutions that best fit the organisations’ needs
