Job Role: Mechanical Engineer (Plumber)
Location: HMP Whitemoor, Whitemoor, Longhill Rd, March PE15 0PR
Salary: £41,818.21 per annum, + 5% additional for working shifts covering weekends
Contract: Permanent, full time, 39 hours per week
We are seeking an NVQ Level 3 qualified Plumber to join our team at HMP Whitemoor, a high-security adult male prison, as a Mechanical Engineer.

We are a Ministry of Justice business and provide critical services to HMPPS. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with at least one of the following qualifications and a combination of skills and experiences:
1. C&G 6189 Plumbing and domestic heating
2. C&G 5962 certificate in Plumbing (Advanced craft)
3. C&G 6019 Mechanical Engineering services (plumbing)
4. C&G 6018 heating and ventilation installation
5. C&G 6129 certificate in Plumbing
6. C&G 214 Engineering systems maintenance
7. C&G 6188 Heating and ventilating
8. C&G 6088 certificate in heating and ventilating
9. C&G 6032 the advanced craft certificate in plumbing
10. EAL Diploma in Plumbing and Heating
Additionally, candidates should have:
1. Two years' experience working as a plumber or equivalent
2. Familiarity with Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements
3. Experience working on commercial or industrial heating and water systems
4. Good working knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements
5. Excellent organisational, time management and people skills
