We have opportunities for two Asset Programmes Managers to join our Asset Management team at National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED).
In this role, you will be responsible for implementing specific investment and asset intervention programmes into our delivery business and ensuring a smooth, optimised implementation of work on our extensive asset base to maximise asset value while controlling cost and risk.
Reporting into the Senior Asset Programmes Manager, you will interpret enterprise and asset class strategies & plans into deliverable implementation programmes of work. You'll monitor delivery against these plans and, working with asset strategists and delivery partners, course correcting and optimising to target whole life value while delivering measurable TotEx benefits.
As part of our hybrid working approach, this role offers a mix of office and home working. Coordinate specific asset intervention (capital investment, inspection, maintenance, disposal and asset data improvement) programmes to address functional, asset class or regional requirements.
Implement and oversee effective Programme level governance and change control processes. Assure that compliance is maintained.
Maintain a representative set of project and programme KPIs. Iterate these to address business needs and programme performance as needed.
Monitor and manage programme level KPIs. Report on these to stakeholders and aggregate these with other programmes within the wider NGED portfolio.
Monitor and manage project and programme delivery risk and uncertainty. Report on these to and aggregate these with other programmes within the wider NGED portfolio.
Assure that functional areas (delivery vehicles our partners) deliver performance commitments associated with asset inspection, maintenance refurbishment and replacement.
The Ideal Candidate
You'll be educated to bachelor's degree level or with equivalent professional experience gained in a similar environment. You'll also hold or be working towards an industry recognised qualification (such as APM PMQ or MSP Foundation and Practitioner) is desirable.
You'll have good knowledge and understanding of regulated infrastructure businesses, together with project and/or programme management principles. You'll have proven experience of managing within a Programme Office or Project Office with applied experience of programme or project management.
Ideally you'll also have experience in asset programme management or within a similar function, and knowledge of utility and work, or the capabilities to build this knowledge quickly.
You'll be highly organised, good at planning ahead and analytical - applying these skills to complex multidisciplinary projects and programmes and identifying larger strategic implications.
