Job summary We are looking for a Modern Matron for our Southampton and Southwest locality, within the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Sexual Health and HIV Service (SHHS). The SHHS provide Sexual Health Care to local communities across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight with its purpose captured from our patient's perspective as 'Help me to have healthy, worry-free sex'. The service has undertaken an inspiring change process, endorsing the Vanguard Method of Systems Thinking, ensuring patient pathways are of the highest quality and standards. Meaningful data allows us to respond to statistically significant variation in real time, enabling us to make changes to the service we are providing with agility. we are looking for an experienced leader who are dynamic and passionate about the delivery of Sexual Health and HIV care across communities, including harder to reach groups within our local populations. Modern Matrons play a pivotal role in providing clinical and strategic leadership for the service and are an instrumental part of the senior leadership team, ensuring that the clinical voice is always at the forefront. Modern Matrons are required to put quality first and to ensure oversight of quality and safety across their localities, escalating themes, trends, observations and issues relating to Quality, through the service line governance process. Main duties of the job In conjunction with the senior management team, to be responsible for the management and delivery of Sexual Health Integrated clinical services both within the clinic and in community settings. To support the Head of Quality and Professions (HQP) for ensuring the delivery of high quality Sexual Health Integrated clinical services within the context of a clinical governance framework. Support the nursing team in clinical governance processes to ensure compliance with the CQC to improve patient outcomes and reduce inequalities. To provide professional leadership to all staff within Sexual Health, working in close collaboration and co-operation with members of the multi-professional team. To support the delivery and achievement of measures to achieve best outcomes. Be responsible for the activity through measures, CQUIN's, budget statements, workforce reports, Trust reports, audit and other measurement tools and to lead on actions in response to outcomes. To be responsible for supporting the senior nursing team, community and network manager and business managers for the day to day active management of the Nursing staff, Health Advisers, Sexual Health Promotion and clerical staff groups meet definable measurable outcomes. Be accountable, manage and delegate responsibility for investigating patient complaints and incidents in the clinical area as directed by the HQP.
