At the bottom of a backpack in London. Dropping on a playground floor in Ohio. Baking on a taxi dashboard in Sydney. These are just some of the places you may find our devices.
Our inhalers have a tough life, and they need to be rugged; after all, they need to repeatably and reliably deliver vital treatments.
So how do we ensure they can withstand all the world has to throw at them?
If you are a recent science graduate looking for your first role in a laboratory setting, then this role is for you.
Where you come in
The first thing you’ll notice about our testing lab is the array of equipment we have. You name it: automated torque testers, vision systems, tensile testers, microscopes, environmental chambers, high-speed cameras… It’s a bit of a toy shop.
Your role is going to be implementing the various testing schedules we put our devices through, from the early-stage concept development and analysis to the later stage laboratory verification process.
Your initial testing will influence the final product, and your verification tests guide the form of the final medication.
You will also be a key player in the smooth running of the laboratory systems and stocks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Perform standard laboratory and/or process activities.
2. Able to identify problems and raise with line manager or colleagues as appropriate.

4. Communicate effectively with immediate line manager, colleagues, staff from other departments, and clients.
5. Accountable for complying with role-specific training requirements and H&S & GMP processes.
6. Perform stability testing in accordance with ICH guidelines across multiple timepoints.

11. Develop technical knowledge and competence.

Inquisitive?
Let’s face it, you have to be.
Maybe you’ve spotted something that wasn’t in the protocols. Maybe you’ve seen a way we can improve a test. Maybe you think we need a new piece of kit. Then make the case for it and make it happen. It’s your input that will help us protect the patient.
Naturally, you’ll be meticulous in your approach, and all your observations will be recorded and shared with the wider team.
Requirements
1. Preferable first degree or equivalent in relevant scientific subject.
2. Basic lab experience.
3. Worked within a relevant discipline in a project team environment and has developed the necessary skills and competencies for progression.
4. Previous relevant experience whether from rising through the Vectura system or from another pharmaceutical/scientific environment.
