This fixed term post will lead transformation work across North Cumbria Integrated Care Foundation Trust within cancer pathways to ensure that pre- habilitation is available for patients, with the aim of improving cancer outcomes and patient experience.
The Prehabilitation Project Manager will be responsible for the successful roll out and delivery of this new cancer 'Prehab' service. You will be supported by the members of the MDT. You will also work closely with other professionals from across clinical specialities including Cancer Nurse Specialists, Physiotherapists, dietitian, occupational therapists and psychologists. The aim of the cancer surgery Prehab service is to optimise the patient's condition prior to their admission and give better outcomes for both patient and the Trust post-treatment.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work closely with cancer services and clinical teams, ICB, primary care, the voluntary sector and the Northern Cancer Alliance, to explore pre-habilitation interventions in line with national recommendations. The post holder will provide leadership and professional advice to Service Managers, MDT Lead Clinicians and Clinical Nurse Specialists around the elements of pre-habilitation in cancer.
The post holder will ensure at all times the patient is at the centre of all our actions.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding adults and children therefore if the post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended) the successful candidate(s) will be subject to a criminal records check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Person Specification
Qualifications
* Degree level education and to Masters Level or Equivalent experience in an Allied Health Professional subject.
* Currently registered HCPC/NMC professional
* Project Management Qualification
Knowledge & Experience
* Developed understanding of health service issues, including in depth knowledge of cancer prehabilitation
* In depth knowledge of the NHS and recent reforms
* Teaching experience or qualification
* Clinical experience within cancer rehabilitation/Prehabilitation prior to major surgery
Skills and Aptitudes
* Ability to understand information management process including financial metrics
* Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
* Highly skilled negotiator
* Ability to influence change with senior managers and clinicians within the organisation
