We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Specialist Trainer to join our Siemens Mobility Education and Skills (E&S) Training team. Reporting to the Senior Training & Development Specialist for Rail Infrastructure, and collaborating closely with the Education and Skills Leadership Team, you will serve as the technical expert on all signalling training materials and equipment. In this SME role, you'll oversee both new and legacy training initiatives and deliver legacy training to internal and external clients. You will lead the legacy training strategy, overseeing the training delivery plan, and managing the implementation of legacy product-related training. You will collaborate with Rail Infrastructure and the Senior Training & Development Specialist on new technologies, playing a pivotal role in developing and executing the training strategy for emerging technologies, as well as mentoring trainers in these areas. Leveraging your experience and dedication to railway signalling training, you will ensure alignment with business objectives. This role covers all aspects of legacy and new technology training, including safety-critical railway signalling and control systems. You'll make a difference by: Developing and delivering training solutions for both internal and external staff on legacy safety-critical signalling and control systems. Ensuring all training solutions comply with Siemens safety and quality standards, legislation, customer requirements, and project specifications. Delivering technical training courses as needed. Assisting in defining the training strategy with options for classroom, practical, online, or e-learning delivery, collaborating with internal and external providers. Liaising with the Chief Engineer to confirm technical and non-technical content requirements for training. Creating and updating course materials, including storyboards for e-learning, while serving as a subject matter expert. Mentoring new and existing trainers in signalling and supporting broader team and project needs. Participating in business improvement programs and enhancing cross-functional processes. Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, gathering feedback to drive trust and confidence in Siemens Mobility. Overseeing the Training & Competency Plan, coordinating all related training activities, and acting as the primary contact for both legacy and new technology training needs. Your Success will be grounded by: Holding an HND or equivalent in a STEM subject, with solid experience in signalling. Possessing broad technical and engineering knowledge of UK railway signalling. Skilled in writing training strategies, planning, and implementing training delivery. Capable of engaging with clients on project scope, attending planning meetings, and developing new processes. Proficient in reviewing and refining course materials. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and liaise at all levels. Excellent presentation, organizational, and time-management abilities. Experienced in highly regulated, compliance-focused industries and able to work independently as part of a virtual team. It would be advantageous to have: CIPD Training and Development qualification or equivalent experience. Experience in writing course material. Member or Fellow of the Institution of Railway Signalling Engineers. Chartered Engineer. What else do you need to know?
