Senior Design Engineer - Kentish Town, London

If so, we are looking for a Senior Civil & Structural Design Engineer to join our award-winning team in Kentish Town, London. Murphy Applied Engineering (In-house design consultancy) is renowned for its extensive expertise and positive contribution towards the ‘Better Engineered’ strategic driver and the Murphy group self-delivery model.
In this role, you will provide safe, economic and constructible solutions within project timeframes for the company’s Business Units delivering across a range of industry sectors including transportation, water, energy and power.
What you will be doing:
1. Be MAE’s single point of contact to multiple projects with management responsibility for project deliverables and costs.
2. Representing the MAE team in collaborative project team meetings.
3. Undertaking site visits when appropriate.
4. Collating feedback on solutions and contributing to lessons learned meetings.
5. Preparing appropriate fully integrated permanent and temporary works proposals/solutions to meet the company’s bid and project delivery stage requirements.
6. Managing the design work of other staff members and external designers.
Who are we looking for?
7. A design engineer with the ability to manage projects from the design and cost perspectives.
8. A design engineer with capability to work autonomously or as part of team.
9. A good communicator with a desire to develop relationships across the company.
10. A person with an open-minded approach to solving civil and structural engineering challenges to find the best solution from all perspectives of a project.
11. A person keen to visit the company’s sites and offices across the south of the country.
