This role is structured as a Monday-Friday DAYS position to help you maintain a work-life balance. However, we do emphasize the importance of flexibility—you may occasionally be needed to cover shifts or holidays when the situation calls for it. Roles and responsibilities of an Automation engineer: Provide hands-on technical support for instrumentation and electrical control applications Responsible for keeping programs backed-up and updating documentation, schematics and drawings Analyse and implement required upgrades or projects in relation to the instrumentation and electrical control applications Support the daily activities of the maintenance teams and assist in shut-downs, investment projects Program monitor and modify PLC and DCS control logic Troubleshoot PLC, DCS and relay control systems Participate in the emergency on-call roster Foster safe working principles throughout the plant. Highlight concerns or practices that contravene safety Qualifications or skills required to be successful in this PLC / automation engineers role: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field 18th Edition is preferred Ability to read advanced electrical drawings. PLC experience including Siemens S5 and Rockwell knowledge. Ability to work on HMI’s, developing modifying and fault finding. Abilities to work with robots teaching and programming.
