KS1 Teaching Assistant Stockport Position: KS1 Teaching Assistant Location: Stockport Type of Work: Full-time & Part-time available Start Date: ASAP Contract Type: Long-term Temporary Pay: £95 per day Hours: 8:30 am 3:30 pm About the Role: We are looking for a KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and welcoming primary school in Stockport. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young learners in Key Stage 1 (Years 1 & 2) and helping them develop strong foundations in their education. As a KS1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in assisting the class teacher, supporting children with literacy, numeracy, and social development, and ensuring they have the best start to their learning journey. Responsibilities: Assisting the class teacher with the delivery of engaging and interactive lessons. Providing 1:1 and small group support to help children with their learning. Supporting children with phonics, early reading, writing, and maths. Encouraging childrens social, emotional, and personal development. Helping manage classroom behaviour in a positive and supportive way. Preparing learning materials and setting up classroom activities. Observing and recording pupil progress, providing feedback to the teacher. Supporting children with additional needs, ensuring they are included in all aspects of school life. What Were Looking For: We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual who has: Experience working with children in KS1 (school, nursery, or childcare setting). A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential). A good understanding of the KS1 curriculum and phonics teaching. A caring, patient, and encouraging approach to supporting young learners. Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with teachers and staff. A commitment to creating a positive learning environment for children. Eligibility Requirements: To be considered for this role, you must: Have the Right to Work in the UK. Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the online update service (or be willing to apply for one). Provide two professional references related to childcare or education.
