Position:
An opportunity has arisen for a permanent Catering Assistant based at Ayrshire Central Hospital.
What you will do:
Your duties will include the service of meals to the patients in all areas, general catering duties, and always maintaining a high standard of hygiene, recording and monitoring data for HACCP and Environmental Health.
The main kitchen at Ayrshire Central Hospital provides in excess of 600 patients prepared and cooked meals every day, including therapeutic diets to patients, as well as meal services for the staff and the public. In addition, we cater for and provide hospitality for meetings and functions.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
We have an excellent opportunity for an organised person with kitchen management skills. Experience in large scale catering, preferably within NHS would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given. You should have the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
Good communication skills are essential for this role.

Hours:
We currently have a vacancy on our back shift:-
1. Hours: 19 per week
2. Shift Pattern: 7 days on 7 days off - 1345-1945 weekdays and 1345-1945 weekends
However applicants who wish to be considered must be available to cover all shifts within the department between the hours of 7.00am – 8.45pm which may include Sat/Sun to cover staff leave.
