LECTURER: Multi Skills – Prison Education – HMP HuntercombeLocation: HMP HuntercombeHours: 37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per yearFlexible Working: We welcome applications from those seeking flexible hoursSalary: Up to £38,181 per annum (subject to experience and qualification)IN SHORTAre you a skilled trades person looking to move into teaching or already a talent lecturer who is looking to transform lives through learning?A teaching qualification would be desirable, however those willing to work towards a teaching qualification who hold supporting subject specialism or industry experience would also be considered - we can provide the training to help you achieve your full potential.Key Responsibilities:Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and inclusive lessons in various vocational subjects such as carpentry, brickwork and general maintenance.Assess learners’ needs and provide individualized support to help them achieve their learning goals.Monitor and record learners’ progress, providing regular feedback and support.Collaborate with prison staff and other educators to support the overall educational program.Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and outcomes.Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.Qualifications and Experience:Relevant teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent).Vocational qualifications and experience in one or more of the following areas: carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, or general maintenance.Experience working in an educational setting, preferably within a prison or similar environment.Ability to motivate and inspire learners from diverse backgrounds.Commitment to promoting equality and diversity in education. Extensive redevelopment has taken place over the last twenty years and there is little left of the wartime buildings.Currently Huntercombe is a Category C adult male establishment holding a solely foreign national population in order to support government priorities on the deportation of foreign national offenders.
