PLEASE NOTE, THIS VACANCY IS OPEN TO INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY Fixed term contract until August 2025, full time, 37 hours per week (1.0 FTE) Band 7 - £49,599 to £57,422 per annum About the Post To lead on the implementation of additional core modules into the One Advanced Open Accounts core finance system, working with the finance team, planning and management information team, digital & IT teams plus external suppliers to ensure the delivery of the assignment to time and budget, within scope and that quality standards are met. To lead the redesign and improvement of current processes which feed into the finance system, utilising automation, and system functionality wherever possible. Main duties include: Thoroughly document current finance processes within existing system set-up. Analyse these processes, identify gaps, and recommend improvements for optimisation within Open Accounts and eBIS systems. Lead on the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility. Manage a comprehensive project plan for the implementation of core financial modules into the One Advanced Open Accounts finance system, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and timelines. Collaborate with colleagues to identify challenges and recommend solutions that enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors to deliver the agreed outcomes. Develop and execute a change management plan to facilitate user adoption and ensure a smooth transition to any new processes implemented. Create comprehensive project documentation, including process maps, training materials, and user guides. To be considered for this role the following Qualifications/skills are required. Degree or equivalent level qualification Relevant professional qualification e.g., Prince2, PMP, MSP and Agile Good understanding of finance ledger system Understanding of financial processes, including accounting principles Demonstrable experience of project management methodologies and processes Experience of cross-team working and the ability to engage with stakeholders Successful experience in the specification, design, implementation, and maintenance of information system projects Extensive experience of process and data mapping exercises Successful experience of working with users and suppliers at different levels About the Team The Finance & Planning Directorate at the University of Suffolk is dedicated to fostering a financially sustainable environment that supports the academic mission and strategic goals of the institution.
