Key Responsibilities:
1. Communicate proactive planned preventative maintenance to the Shift Engineering Supervisors ensuring they understand the standards to be achieved.
2. Attend and report any relevant issues at the daily maintenance meetings, suggesting improvements and chairing meetings to ensure all Engineering Shift Supervisors understand the actions to be taken on raised issues.
3. Regularly monitor and evaluate current systems and procedures, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations for change.
4. Understand departmental constraints and use own initiative to take corrective action.
5. Manage and address issues pertaining to absenteeism/sickness/holidays and clocking, using discretion and appropriate action, adhering to company policies and procedures.
6. Responsible for the training and development of Shift Supervisors to meet business demands, ensuring high quality and service levels are maintained, profitability and productivity are increased, and waste/cost is minimized.
7. Manage and control problems with machinery, team members, and resources, ensuring correct working procedures and policies are followed.
8. Liaise with the appropriate supporting departments: Human Resources, Training, QA, and Health & Safety to ensure that employee and product issues are dealt with correctly and efficiently.
9. Manage/assess and monitor departmental manning levels, using initiative to take appropriate action for necessary change.
Personal Specification:
1. HNC/HND or Equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
2. IT Literate.
3. Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
4. Excellent Communication Skills.
5. Proven experience in managing a team.
6. A clear and strong idea of how to drive continuous improvement across the factory.
7. Effective execution.
8. Experience in FMCG.
9. Experience in assisting with the management of capital investment projects.
10. Familiarity with modern maintenance and manufacturing methodologies including PPM/TPM.
11. Resilient and customer-focused.
