*Everest People Solutions are looking for a Hygiene Manager for a large food processing company based in Wolverhampton. As the Hygiene Manager you will oversee and ensure the effective cleaning of the factory in accordance with the hygiene standards established by the Technical Department. The role of Hygiene Manager will also ensure that work instructions are up-to-date and aligned with best practices, enabling the site to meet all customer expectations. Ensure that cleaning staff are properly trained to consistently achieve the quality and safety targets set by the Company, while maintaining cost efficiency.
Key Duties & Responsibilities for the Hygiene Manager
Oversee section operations to meet KPIs, business objectives, and customer specifications, while achieving quality, productivity, and cost targets.
Maintain compliance with Food Standards legislation and ensure COSHH and Health & Safety guidelines are followed, including proper PPE use.
Manage daily equipment strip downs, deep cleans, and reassembly; collaborate with suppliers to meet chemical and service requirements.
Supervise and audit cleaning quality, addressing non-conformance promptly to protect product integrity.
Control resources, including labour and chemical usage; Develop and coach staff to enhance performance and fully utilise their skills; Promote a customer-focused environment and ensure compliance with Equal Opportunity, Recruitment, and Employee Management policies.
Requirements for the Hygiene Manager
Proven experience in a Hygiene Manager or similar role within a food manufacturing or processing environment is essential.
Strong understanding of Food Safety Standards, including BRC, HACCP, and COSHH.
Knowledge of cleaning processes, chemicals, and equipment used in a food production setting.
Strong decision-making skills with a focus on maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety. - Proficient in using IT systems, including Microsoft Office, for managing schedules, records, and reports.
Ability to identify and address issues quickly and efficiently, maintaining product integrity and safety.
Strong commitment to maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
Relevant qualifications in Food Safety, Hygiene Management, or a related field are desirable.
A proactive and results-driven approach to managing hygiene operations.
