Job Overview
OBM People has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned operations professional to join our team as a Senior Operations Supervisor at our Aberdeen Quayside base. We are looking for an experienced individual with a proven track record in supervising and performing lifting operations, equipment inspections, and cargo handling duties.
Key Responsibilities
* Developing and implementing safe and efficient lifting plans, identifying required equipment and personnel, and ensuring clear communication of responsibilities in line with operating procedures and legislation.
* Ensuring the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), forklifts, and lifting equipment to maintain a safe working environment.
* Verifying ROB cargo counts and recording re-stowing cargo on the relevant system.
* Reviewing the performance and development of OPITO Stage 1 personnel, providing guidance and support where needed.
* Conducting yard and gantry inspection duties as required.
* Assuming the role of Quayside Supervisor in their absence, ensuring continuity of operations.
* Promoting a proactive Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) culture, encouraging participation and compliance.
* Motivating the team to achieve exceptional safety standards, operational performance, and service delivery.
Competency Requirements
* Valid certifications in HASAWA, LOLER, PUWER, Oil Spill Awareness, Gantry Inspection, Manual Handling, Permit to Work, Dangerous Goods, and Deck Planning.
* Effective leadership and people management skills, including excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
* Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities while maintaining high standards under pressure.
* Solutions-based approach with strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills, along with attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently while contributing positively to the wider team.
* Numerate and computer literate with well-developed IT skills across the Microsoft suite.
Salary Information
The estimated annual salary for this position is between £40,000-£60,000, depending on experience.
