Senior Facilities Officer

£19.95 per hour PAYE (umbrella options available at a higher pay rate, with no holiday payments)
Responsibilities:
1. Work alongside the team on plumbing, carpentry, flooring, and minor electrics and other general maintenance jobs.
2. Manage the in-house repairs service, including supervising the team and covering in the case of absence/sickness.
3. Oversee and supervise contractors.
4. Support the Building Services Manager.
5. Conduct regular site inspections to identify issues and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
6. Monitor and control expenditure on building materials and FM consumables.
7. Perform weekly and monthly tests on fire equipment, generators, hydrant pumps, etc.
Essential Skills, Qualifications, Experience:
1. Good all-round knowledge of maintenance/repairs from a professional/work background.
2. Experience of in-house repairs and maintenance, including plumbing, carpentry, flooring, and minor electrics.
3. Ability to work with minimum supervision and use own discretion.
4. Methodical and meticulous when planning and executing tasks.
5. Strong knowledge of health and safety in premises management.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
About Our Client:
Our client, a London Borough Council, has a vacancy in the Council building. Seeking someone to join their team who is very hands on and keen to support the manager at the Central Transport Depot in London. There is support, guidance, and training available for leadership improvement and progression. So, if you are a hands-on person, able to do physical jobs, and have an interest, please let us know.
Note: This role is 70% Maintenance Team Leader and 30% supporting the Manager. Normal working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. However, flexibility is required for late evenings and weekends if required, as the depot operates 24/7.
