There is an exciting opportunity to join Bellway, one of the UK’s largest house builders. Our South London Division is looking to recruit a Senior Technical Manager to join the Division’s Technical team.
The Role
The role of Senior Technical Manager will support the Head of Technical, and the wider business including our Construction, Commercial, and Sales teams in the execution of construction projects through ongoing support and timely delivery of accurate architectural and technical information. Additionally, you will be responsible for the management of the wider technical team, ensuring day-to-day activities and tasks are delivered accurately and on time. Depending on experience, this role can be offered as a Senior Technical Manager or a Technical Manager.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Support the Head of Technical / Technical Director in managerial issues and provide relevant reporting where required, including supporting, mentoring, and managing.
2. Ensure regular Design Team Meetings occur within the relevant consultants at the early stage of development.
3. Oversee the production of working drawings and detailed information to ensure that it is complete, coherent, accurate, and available on time.
4. Provide technical support during land buying, planning, sales, construction, and post-construction.
5. Take new site information from Land and check it prior to committing to the drawing stage.
6. Assess planning information for Building Regulation requirements.
7. Agree programmes, packages, detail packages, and superstructures before final issue.
8. Ensure consultants are briefed on the required distribution of drawing information and key dates to meet procurement requirements.
9. Ensure NHBC approval is obtained, and any conditions are cleared promptly to avoid delays to completions.
Experience, Qualifications, and Skills
Experience
1. Experience of working as a Senior Technical Manager/Technical Manager within a large volume company.
2. Experience working at a senior level within the housebuilding industry in a technical/architectural function, running numerous projects simultaneously.
3. A track record for effectively managing a high-performing team.
Qualifications and Training
1. HNC/HND in a building-related topic.
2. CSCS card or equivalent.
3. Current full UK driving licence.

1. Strong communication, listening, presentation skills, and excellent attention to detail.
2. Methodical, conscientious, organised, and works to deliver high standards.
3. Ability to recognise problems and deal with them effectively.
4. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
5. Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
6. Proficient IT skills along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Working Conditions
Office-based role with regular travel to development sites and for meetings. Willing to be flexible in respect to day-to-day duties and hours worked.
