About the role
Reporting to the Format Design Implementation Manager, you will support the delivery of our format models across our varied and growing estate. You’ll drive our ambitious and fast-paced pet care centre refurbishment programme, and support our vet practice extension programme, by implementing effective design solutions.
This role offers ‘hybrid’ working and requires you to work in our Handforth (Cheshire) Support Office at least two days per week. Some national travel will also be required.
Key responsibilities will include;
1. Ensuring smooth, consistent implementation of design principles across our estate
2. Implementing all components of the format model and new brand identity, including signage, joinery and overall look and feel
3. Delivering format design propositions aligning with our brand through engagement with the Store Format team
4. Creating format design schemes, ensuring optimal consumer and colleague experiences
5. Understanding materials, manufacturing processes and costs to deliver within budget
6. Attending site visits and partner briefings, supporting scope definition and seamless delivery
7. Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to deliver cross-functional projects
8. Acting as an ‘on-site ambassador’, providing feedback to inform future projects
9. Sharing best practices to improve team efficiency and support colleagues on various schemes
10. Using team meetings to discuss and refine design schemes
About you
11. A proven track record of delivering complex projects with commercial and operational awareness
12. Experience in a Store Format or Visual Design role, ideally within a large retail business
13. Knowledge of store refurbishment programs and associated milestones
14. Understanding of store design architecture, branding, space planning, and layout principles
15. Proficiency in translating design intent drawings, CAD plans, and construction packs
16. Experience in veterinary practice planning and design is desirable, but not essential
17. Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
18. Experience working with external agencies and translating outputs for internal colleagues
19. A confident, articulate presenter with excellent written communication skills
20. Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
