GSL Education are seeking an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Scunthorpe. Your role will be crucial in helping students overcome challenges, build confidence, and achieve their full potential within a nurturing learning environment. As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to provide tailored support, fostering a safe and inclusive environment for students with SEMH needs. Your role will be instrumental in promoting their emotional well-being and academic progress. SEMH Teaching Assistant Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEMH needs to help them engage with their learning. Assist teachers in implementing tailored strategies to promote emotional well-being and academic progress. Establish a safe, inclusive, and structured environment that supports students' personal and social development. Help manage challenging behaviour in a professional and positive manner, following school policies. Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and parents. Promote positive peer interactions and develop students' confidence and independence. Support the wider classroom environment, ensuring all students feel valued and included. SEMH Teaching Assistant Requirements: Previous experience supporting students with SEMH, SEN or related behavioural needs in a school setting is essential. Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification are preferred. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with students and staff. A resilient, calm, and proactive approach to managing challenging situations. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
