We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our Autism Base team. This is a full-time position that involves delivering targeted lesson interventions to small groups of pupils with complex needs, helping them to achieve their full potential.
- Support students in accessing the curriculum, adapting materials to meet individual needs.
- Deliver small-group interventions, focusing on key skills such as literacy, numeracy, and social communication.
- Collaborate with the SENCO, teachers, and other professionals to create individualized support plans.
- Provide emotional and behavioral support to help students manage challenges and develop coping strategies.
- Assist in monitoring and assessing students' progress, maintaining detailed records and providing feedback.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that celebrates diversity and encourages student independence.
- Work with parents and carers to ensure a consistent approach to support both at school and home.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children or young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) or complex needs.
- Demonstrates empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
- Has strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Is flexible and adaptable, able to respond to the individual needs of students.
- Holds relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) - desirable but not essential.
