Context Our world has changed. Risk is accelerating, and that is compounded by the fact that everything is deeply interconnected, everything from geopolitical and economic and social issues to technology, climate and regulation. In these volatile times, companies want to better understand and act on their risks but lack the risk infrastructure and analytical tools. Our ‘Risk and Data Services’ (RDS) Platform empowers companies to take control of their risks. It gives them access to state-of-the-art data infrastructure and risk models from Swiss Re and third parties. Companies build a digital twin of their physical assets on the RDS platform. The digital twin enables them to quantify risks and estimate losses due to different perils. For example, companies can assess how their factories and distribution centres be impacted by natural catastrophes and climate change over the next 15, 20, or 25 years. With these insights, companies can make critical decisions: Shall we open a manufacturing plant elsewhere that will be less prone to flooding? With the digital twin in place, companies can then run “what-if” scenarios to understand how a risk event could potentially disrupt their business. Based on these insights, they can design a risk mitigation strategy and work with colleagues from other departments to implement it. The RDS platform has generated considerable traction among large and mid-sized companies worldwide. We are now embarking on the next phase of growth.
