Then we have a role for you The Opportunity As a Training Group Head within the Nuclear Skills Alliance, you will be responsible for ensuring that your team, based at various locations (predominately, Hinkley Point C and Gloucester Business Park), provide high quality, systematically derived training to meet the evolving needs of our wide range of stakeholders across multiple licensees. The NSA is a structured collaboration between Nuclear New Build and Nuclear Operations, responsible for the delivery of technical skills and competences to support EDF Energy’s existing and new nuclear businesses. For Hinkley Point C, the NSA is responsible for delivering a wide range of technical training programmes and courses to support the competence of project personnel during the design, build and commissioning phases as well as for the operation and maintenance of the EPR during commercial operations. For Nuclear Operations, the NSA is responsible for delivering fundamental technical, skills and general employee initial training, and providing a pipeline for the development of existing staff to meet future needs of EDF Energy. You will be primarily based at Hinkley Point C but there will be a requirement for regular travel to Gloucester Business Park, as well as the possibility to travel to other sites when needed. Who you are As minimum, you will have a qualification and/or sufficient experience in a relevant technical subject alongside SAT (Systematic Approach to Training) process and principles knowledge and practical skills preferably gained in a large complex technical environment such as the nuclear, defence or other safety critical industry. You will have excellent organisational, communication and influencing skills with experience in customer and stakeholder relations and the ability to understand the complex needs of our customers and deliver suitable training solutions. Understanding of the roles and responsibilities of training committees within EDF is key with the ability to drive emergent stakeholder needs to an agreed resolution. You will be flexible with regards to work locations and travel. Ideally you will have experience of management and leadership of large teams and first-hand experience of leading a team to apply systematically derived training processes to large training programmes with multiple stakeholders. Knowledge and understanding of some or all the programmes that fall within the team’s scope, namely main control room operations, plant operations, fuel route, and Safety Rules and experience of representing training or other key stakeholders at training committees. You’ll show good understanding of the key aspects of nuclear power plant systems and operation and project management experience associated with the delivery of high-quality training programmes. You will also have experience of Project Management applications such as Microsoft Project Applications for this role close on 13th February 2025. Success is personal.
