The Diocese of Truro is currently undertaking a grassroots change aimed at positioning the Church in Cornwall to tackle the biggest spiritual and societal needs of Cornwall in the 21st Century, this work has been undertaken by the local church, through engagement with a deanery planning process. Our Change and Renewal team is providing vital support to deaneries to help them achieve their plans. This role is to enable and facilitate local engagement and communications with key stakeholders in parishes and deaneries in the implementation of their deanery plans in and delivering the Diocesan Plan for Change & Renewal. This means developing a range of approaches for communications to ensure greater reach and give opportunities to gather input from stakeholders. It is also about working alongside volunteers and clergy to support them to share their own stories and engage people locally. The right person for this role will be an effective and adaptive communicator who is skilled in used a range of media and approaches to engage stakeholders. This will include written content, digital platforms, traditional media and face-to-face delivery of workshops and meetings. Being proactive, organised and able to meet deadlines is key. Because it involves working across the diocese, you need to be good with people and be interested in what we and our parishes do.
