If you have said yes to these questions, then we want you to join a strong OD team as the lead for OD partnering for our Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) & South Sites (Beckenham Beacon, Sidcup, Queen Mary's and Orpington Hospitals), and as the trust lead for Coaching & Mentoring.
At Kings, we have an organisational model of Group and Site leadership teams who oversee our Care Groups, led by a triumvirate headed by a clinician and consist of a Clinical Director, Head of Nursing and General Manager. The OD programmes you will lead on will form a foundational pillar of the Trust People and Culture Plan to engage our senior leaders to build on organisational effectiveness by aligning the way we work to our strategy, values and behaviours.
This role will have a split base between the Denmark Hill Site and The Princess Royal Hospital. Candidates need to be able to attend both sites on a regular basis.
Main duties of the job
The Senior OD Practitioner will work alongside the Head of Organisational Development & Leadership and Deputy Director, in the development and delivery of a targeted OD Partnering service to our Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH), and South Sites (Beckenham Beacon, Orpington and Queen Marys Hospitals). They will support the care groups and their leadership teams (triumvirates) to deliver our BOLD strategy and Trust People & Culture Plan, with the optimum skills, behaviours and knowledge to deliver excellent staff and patient experience & outcomes. The post holder will engage our senior leaders to improve organisational effectiveness and organisational health by aligning the way we work to our values and behaviours and build on our compassionate and inclusive culture at Kings.
The post holder will also lead on a trust-wide coaching & mentoring programme, applying their expertise to contribute to the development, roll out and ongoing improvement of a programme that delivers sustainable change across the Trust.
As a clinically led organisation, all interventions will meet the needs of our care group leaders, ensuring that development is inclusive and accessible. You will contribute to a high performing, expert, enthusiastic, proactive OD team. As a key member of the wider People team, you will be a supportive and active team player who advocates for People across the Trust and role models inspirational leadership behaviours.
Job responsibilities
Organisational Development (PRUH & South Sites)
* Build, embed and maintain strong relationships with care group triumvirate leadership teams and act as a critical ally providing strong OD consultancy.
* Work closely with the HR/People Business Partners to ensure care groups and their leaders receive a holistic People support offer.
* Influence senior management particularly during complex change, encouraging a strategic and people-oriented approach.
* Design and deliver impactful OD interventions and programmes based on an expert and skilful diagnostic underpinned by theory and experience, in an inclusive way which builds client understanding and capability.
* Be a key contributing member of a high performing OD team to deliver a coherent, high quality and efficient OD work plan that supports a multi-site Trust in meeting its BOLD strategy.
* Alongside the OD Senior Practitioner for Culture and Experience, HR/People Business Partners and EDI team, support care groups to meet their actions from their annual staff survey responses at PRUH & South Sites.
* Alongside the OD Senior Practitioner for Leadership ensure that target care groups have access to and are aware of the wider leadership development offer.
* Ensure monthly reporting of OD Partnering is submitted and all interventions are evaluated for individual and organisational effectiveness.
* Lead and work in partnership with national OD organisations, NHS and Non-NHS to develop the underpinning knowledge through research and evaluation.
* Be informed by key OD theories action research, systems theory, OD self as instrument change theories and actively develops supplemental theories to enhance the impact of OD.
* Actively engage in ongoing personal learning and development and team development.
* Regularly undertake research and development in relation to organisational development, including horizon scanning for upcoming good practice, benchmarking with other organisations/industries to add value to our internal OD services, triangulation of data to provide meaningful analysis of organisational trends and regularly maintain own continuous professional development.
* Lead, where relevant, the development and implementation of OD policies and processes across the Trust.
* Evaluate change and OD programmes in order to identify opportunities for improvement.
* Prepare and present regular reports on OD performance of various programmes, achievement against agreed KPIs and programme objectives.
Coaching & Mentoring
* Develop and lead on a programme of work that builds and embeds a coaching & mentoring culture at Kings.
* Deliver on key areas in the Trusts People & Culture Plan relating to coaching & mentoring, ensuring initiatives are aligned with and make a significant contribution to the strategic aims of the Trust.
* Develop a number of resources to support managers and staff to embed coaching & mentoring in their teams including refreshing training/workshops and accompanying toolkits.
* Be a lead facilitator for the Trusts coaching & mentoring workshops and all related interventions.
* Develop a new pool of internal coaches supporting their development and create and maintain related resources/documents such as confidentiality agreements, contracting and lead on supervision sessions for them.
* Develop a pool of internal mentors including their development and supportive resources/documents.
* Responsible for the procurement and review of digital tools and system providers to support the internal coaching & mentoring offer. Lead on contract management of these providers.
* Trust lead on executive coaching, ensuring the offer is reviewed and promoted to triumvirate and executive leadership groups.
* Responsible for the procurement, tender of executive coaching providers ensuring sustainability in identifying the best use of NHS budget/funds.
* Maintaining the ongoing relationships with coaching providers and hold regular reviews of adoption, engagement, and continuous improvement.
* Ensure the Trusts values and behaviours are front and centre of all coaching & mentoring interventions and programmes.
Financial Management
* Responsibility to contribute to the identification and delivery of cost improvement programmes.
* Lead the development of business cases or bids for investment in new programmes of work.
General
There may be other portfolios or workforce priorities that fall within the post holders remit and these will be reviewed and agreed with the Deputy Director and Head of OD& L.

Person Specification
Education & qualifications
Essential
* Educated to degree level or holder of equivalent professional qualification, ideally in the area of HR, OD, Occupational Psychology.
* Master's degree or equivalent level of experience in senior management role.
* Highly developed specialist knowledge, through experience or professional qualification in the areas of OD culture, engagement and experience.
Desirable
* Accredited qualification in Coaching and or Mentoring.
* Member of CIPD, BPS or equivalent.

* Significant experience of developing and implementing large scale organisational development interventions.
