The Role: Silcom Recruitment is actively seeking an Accounts Assistant on behalf of one of our long-standing clients, a highly regarded and well-established business based in Fareham. Our client is looking to add an experienced Accounts Assistant to their finance department, supporting the team with a variety of transactional and administrative duties to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations. Responsibilities & Requirements of an Accounts Assistant: Maintain and update departmental spreadsheets to support financial reporting. Raise and process customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner. Generate customer statements and assist in credit control by chasing outstanding debts. Manage the department’s shared inbox and incoming post. Process supplier invoices and staff expense forms with attention to detail. Use Sage Accounts software to carry out day-to-day finance functions. Provide administrative support to the wider accounts team. Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance-based role is essential, as is familiarity with Sage (or similar accounting systems) and strong Excel skills.
