Robert Half Finance & Accounting are currently recruiting for an Interim Assistant Management Accountant to join a client based in Gloucester for a period of circa 6 months.
Salary range DOE: £32,000 - £40,000
Hybrid: 1 x day a week in the office
Working hours - Full time or part time hours (Flexible with start/finish times)
Role includes:
1. Provide accurate and timely completion and distribution of monthly management accounts,
2. and all supporting schedules, reports and statements to relevant budget holders
3. Assist budget holders in interpretation, analysis and investigation of expenditure and
4. income charged against their budgets
5. To support senior finance staff to provide financial training to managers and budget holders where appropriate.
6. Monitor and contribute to the annual budget setting exercise liaising with the Finance
7. Business Partner
8. Advise the Business Partner and the Senior Operational Finance Manager on an ongoing basis of the financial position including providing appropriate information and explanations (including commentaries) for any significant variances or risks
9. Ensure that sound financial management and budgetary controls operate within the relevant directorate cost centre
10. Assist with forecasts of year-end income
11. To assist Business Partners with the completion of year end accounts and annual accounts information in line with national deadlines.
12. To actively review current financial and non-financial procedures to seek better working practices
13. To assist the Business Partner /other senior finance staff in any other relevant task as required.
14. To cross-cover for the other Management Accountants
Skills/Experience needed:
15. Previously assisted with management accounts - minimum
16. Ability to work to deadlines an prioritise
17. Team player
18. Excellent communication skills & liaising with senior and non-financial staff
19. Computer literate
20. Analytically minded
21. Enjoy sharing ideas
22. Comfortable using Excel
