We are looking for an experienced Toolmaker to join our very successful client in Sutton Coldfield. The Toolmaker will be predominantly involved in the highly skilled, complex, and specialist detailed work of maintaining the engineering tooling used to produce components, products, and assemblies.
This requires the application of a broad range of activities including the interpretation of engineering drawings and technical instructions and the use of hand, machine, and automated computer-controlled machine tools and measuring equipment.
Toolmaker Responsibilities:
1. Manufacture new tooling to engineering drawings in line with timing plans.
2. Carry out proactive maintenance on moulding tools that come from production and log them in the system.
3. Prepare moulding tools in good condition ready for production.
4. Liaise with setters over issues with the mould tool.
5. Maintain tooling to the correct standards.
6. Maintain spares and equipment to avoid lengthy repair times.
7. Maintain working area to a high standard, working to 5S's.
Toolmaker Skills Required:
1. Bench fitting
2. Manual machining using miller, lathes, and surface grinders.
3. TIG and MIG welding experience
4. CNC milling is desirable
5. Wire eroding is desirable
6. At least 4 years in a similar role
Double Day Shifts:
Mon - Thu 6am to 2.30pm, Fri 6am to 12pm
Mon - Thu 1.30pm to 10pm, Fri 11am to 7pm
